The Farmers Boy Inn

Welcome to The Farmers Boy Inn.

Originally a coaching inn, the Farmers Boy Inn is owned and run by Phil Kiernan a member of The British Institute of Innkeepers, (a professional body for the pub and catering trade).

Phil, (from Dublin), likes Guinness (no suprises there), and has won awards for the Guinness he keeps, and some come here just for this reason. He is often the centre of friendly banter and can give as good as he takes, (or so he thinks). Thursday nights is the best night to come and heckle him as he hosts the quiz. people come here for just this reason, but Phil believes they come here for the quiz.

Richard, the manager, is from the Midlands. Phil says that he always likes to have the last word but because of his personality and professionalism he does'nt mind.

Richard is also the Head Chef who has been cooking & delighting his customers for the last 25 years. His cooking is very exciting and came to The Farmers Boy Inn in May 2006. He specializes in Fresh Fish and mouth watering Herefordshire steaks.

The Farmers Boy Inn has won many awards and these are displayed around the bar.In the year 2003/4 they won 'Free House of the Year'for the south west of England and in July this year they won 'Marketing pub of the Year' for the south west of England. These in themselves do not give the pub its unique atmosphere, this is due to the customers, Phil and his team. It is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike.Phil has over 23 years experience in the trade & he can always be found there to greet you. As he say's 'your custom & satisfaction is his key to success'

The Farmers Boy Inn had a kitchen fire April 2007. Rather than dwelling on it, Phil the Landlord decided to refurbish the whole Pub, Restaurant, Lounge, Kitchen and B&B. With a new menu, a la carte and fish specials this traditional Inn looks beautiful being careful not to lose any of it's 17th century charm and warmth.
