Originally a coaching inn, the Farmers Boy Inn is owned and run by Phil Kiernan a member of The British Institute of Innkeepers, (a professional body for the pub and catering trade).
Phil, (from Dublin), likes Guinness (no suprises there), and has won awards for the Guinness he keeps, and some come here just for this reason. He is often the centre of friendly banter and can give as good as he takes, (or so he thinks). Thursday nights is the best night to come and heckle him as he hosts the quiz. people come here for just this reason, but Phil believes they come here for the quiz.
Richard, the manager, is from the Midlands. Phil says that he always likes to have the last word but because of his personality and professionalism he does'nt mind.
Richard is also the Head Chef who has been cooking & delighting his customers for the last 25 years. His cooking is very exciting and came to The Farmers Boy Inn in May 2006. He specializes in Fresh Fish and mouth watering Herefordshire steaks.
SAVE THE GREAT BRITISH PIE CAMPAIGN The Farmers Boy Inn is famous for its selection of Homemade Pies especially its 2&1 pie ( half Steak & Guinness half Cauliflower cheese ) Its campaign is about getting people back surporting Traditional Country Pubs and eating Traditional Homecooked British food.
